New School Chirashi

Well, I finally redesigned our school leaflet, called chirashi in Japanese. The can't believe that we had been using the old leaflet, more or less unchanged, for nine years.

Hopefully the new chirsahi will be just as successful as the previous version.

You can take a look for yourself by clicking here:  2018 スクールチラシ(PDF)

  Thank you for reading!

Reading Challenge

Starting this week we have set our elementary students a challenge; to read sixteen books from across our graded reading series.

For each book they read they will receive a stamp on their challenge card, and a full card will entitle them to choose a present.

The graded reader series we have available are Oxford Reading Tree, Rigby Star, Learn Abouts, Songbirds, Collins Big Cat, Projext X, Penguin Kids, Floppy's Phonics and Tom and Bella (from Jelly and Bean.)

Passports Please!

At last, the third set of passports are ready to be issued to our Kinder class students. For each unit in the textbook,  I have listed the vocabulary they have learned as well as a very simple phrase they will have mastered during the unit. Upon completion they will receive a stamp in their passport.

Hopefully they will be as well received as in the Elementary classes, where the passports are keeping everybody focused on progressing and gaining more stamps.
